- There are not a great many performances on CD of these pieces which are among the most beautiful vocal compositions Schubert ever wrote, Including the famous Nachtgesang im Walde with an accompaniment of four solo horns and the equally famous und beloved Gesang der Geister über den Wassern (on words by Goethe) with string ensemble accompaniment.

- The program also comprises some of Schubert's wonderful a cappella settlngs and in the works for vocal ensemble with piano, the piano parts are played by none less than Ronald Brautigam who is maklng a big international career as a recitalist and soloist with the major international orchestras.

- The Utrecht Vocal Soloists are an ensemble of nine young singers, all of them former pupils of baritone Udo Reinemann. Not only do they profit from Udo Reinemann's own experience as a world-famous international concert singer and from his great pedagogic gifts, but also from his adventurous musical spirit in performing repertory for various vocal ensembles. Udo Reinemann himself sings the solo part In Schubert's haunting Ständchen (serenade) and the tenor solo parts in Nachthelle, Mondenschein and Sehnsucht are sung by tenor Kor-Jan Dusseljee, who works at the great German opera houses as a Mozart singer of the highest esteem.
