Quadros and Trio Sonatas

Telemann's Quadros - chamber works for three solo parts and continuo- form a case apart in 18th century music in that this compositional form was primarily used by Telemann. In these works Tele- mann's talents find their greatest expression: he combines attractive melodies with strong rhythms, total mastery of counterpoint and solo parts that are virtuosically written. The Ensemble Senario, known for its highly praised performances of rare Concerti di Camera by Vivaldi (Globe GLO 5119), has undertaken to bring these unique works to life again in brilliant performances that are based on the original manuscripts which are kept in Darmstadt and Dresden. Senario was especially founded in 1994 for the performance of lesser-known Baroque chamber music with unusual instrumentations; all its members are specialists in Baroque music and have won their spurs in international concert life.
