Ma Mère l'Oye

This recording was originally released by Etcetera, and received great praise when first released. The rights of the master tapes have however been reverted to Globe, so we have made new digital transfers, and are proud to be able to include this CD in our own catalogue now. Although there are quite a few recordings of "Ma Mere l'Oye", this performance still stands out among those available. However, the brilliant orchestrations of works by Debussy, Schumann and Chabrier- which were commissioned from Ravel by Nijinsky and Diaghilev for the "Ballets Russes" - have been rarely recorded and are of great interest since they show once more what a great orchestrator Ravel was. So: highly interesting repertoire in beautiful performances and great sound!
