Lamentationes Jeremiae Prophetae

Czech composer and Bach contemporary Zelenka is nowadays regarded as one of the major composers of the 18th century. His Six Lamentations of the Prophet Jeremiah is considered his major work and ranks among the greatest work from the period. This stylish and inspired performance was first issued in 1990 among great critical and public appreciation. After having been absent from our catalogue for some time, we have now reissued this CD in the 6000 series due to public demand, with an updated cover design and a booklet in which the complete original Latin texts of the Lamentations with translations in English, French and German are Included. Even more important is that, in spite of its relative age, this recording sounds as fresh and new as if it was made yesterday and there still is hardly any competition worth mentioning In the current CD catalogues.
